Why train with us?

  • Low student to instructor ratios : 3 or 4 students per instructor both in the pool and ocean

  • Our retail store is located downtown.

  • Diving courses available all year-round. Private courses available.

  • We teach children 10 years and older.

  • Passionate team of Instructors and Divemasters who love to teach.

This course is cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and automated external defibrillator (AED) use combined into one program.

It is designed to teach adults and minors the proper techniques to safely administer CPR, correct first aid, and utilize an AED in emergency situations involving infants, children, and adults.

First Aid  Refresher :
Even if you have taken an Emergency First Response course in the past, everyone needs a refresher every now and then. In order to stay current you need to take the course once every 2 years. You may sign up for any of our EFR courses to refresh your skills and knowledge.

The Adult and Child Emergency Care training is a non-diving course offered at Diving Sports Canada here in Vancouver. We run our First Aid courses through First Response Training International. These courses are perfect designed separate from diving and have all the requirements of a standard first aid course you would take for work or school.

Who is this course for:

The Adult and Child Emergency Care training is for anyone who wants to learn basic life saving skills and accident management. We will cover Cardiopulmonary Resusitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator use (AED) during your training. This certification (or equivalent) is also a requirement to complete the Rescue Diver course, and also serves as a refresher course for others (even non-divers) who have completed a first aid course some time ago.

What You Will Learn:

You will receive an eLearning code to review the knowledge development section on your own, including the final exam. We will then spend a full day in the classroom getting hands on practice providing CPR to a mannequin, accident scene analysis, bandaging, spinal injury management and more.

Course Description:

  • You will receive an eLearning code to complete at home before the class session.
  • You will spend 6-8 hours in class reviewing material and getting hands on practice with emergency first aid skills
  • We are doing our part to try and reduce plastic use, so all of our certifications will be digital. If students would prefer a physical certification card, then they may pay to have one at the time of certification.
  • You may check the requirements for completion in the Standards and Procedures HERE

  • Course Prerequisites:

  • Willingness to help others in need

  • Commitment to Safety and Enjoyment

At Diving Sports we believe in making sure all our students receive the highest quality instruction and customer service. We are in the business of training, mentoring, and supporting students to become safe, skillful and confident divers. We begin by scheduling our courses with the number of classes it typically takes most students to master the knowledge and skills, then adapt and tailor our schedule to fit our individual student’s needs. Our instructors are open and honest about your progress during each part of the course. Students may need to schedule additional pool or ocean training dives prior to certification. This ensures our students complete their courses with all the skills and knowledge they need to be safe and enjoy their future dives and courses. When you take a course with Diving Sports, you are welcomed into a passionate and inclusive community of divers eager to support your diving journey well beyond the duration of your class.
